Adult Orchestral Strings 

The Community String Project offers lessons for high school students and adults on the violin, viola, cello and bass bass in 15-week sessions. 

 

Aspiring musicians start in the Beginning Adult Ensemble.  Experienced musicians will be guided to the appropriate intermediate or advanced ensemble.  Registration for Beginning Adult Ensemble occurs every fall.  Experienced musicians can join in the fall, spring or the eight-week summer session.

Registration Fee is $250 for a 15-week session

All Classes take place at the Bristol Statehouse 

240 High Street, Bristol, RI.

 

  • Beginning String Ensemble, Instructor Madison Cahoon Wednesday 6:30-8:00 pm

  • Intermediate String Ensemble - Instructor Madison Cahoon Thursday 7:00-8:30 pm

  • Advanced String Ensemble - Instructor Mary Casale    Monday 6:30-8:00 pm

Adult Guitar Ensembles

Beginners may start in the Fall, no experience necessary! 

 

The Community String Project offers classical guitar in a group setting for adults in 4 levels.

 

Beginning Classical Guitar - No previous musical knowledge is needed. Students will learn basic notation, classical guitar technique and right hand finger style technique.

 

Advanced Beginners - Continue to develop skills reading music and learn additional beginning solo and ensemble literature.

Intermediate and Advanced Guitar Ensemble - Experienced musicians will be guided to intermediate or advanced levels to further developed ensemble skills. Prerequisites include the ability to read music in first position, play basic chords, knowledge of right hand PIMA rest stroke and free stroke. Students will further develop their skills in right hand technique, position studies, and intermediate and advanced solo and ensemble literature.

Classes are held Tuesdays at Mt. Hope High School in Bristol

  • Beginning Guitar, Instructor Bob Arsenault                            7:00-8:30 pm

  • Advanced Beginning Guitar, Instructor Bob Arsenault           5:30-7:00 pm

  • Intermediate Guitar Ensemble, Instructor Jack McNamara      5:30-7:00 pm 

  • Advanced Guitar Ensemble, Instructor Jack McNamara          7:00-8:30 pm​

Students must provide their own classical guitar, foot stool and method book. (Electric or Acoustic, steel-string guitars are not acceptable.)

​

Registration Fee is $250 for a 15 week session.​
