Adult Summer Ensemble

Join us this summer to further develop your musical skills!  Summer session will run from the week of June 18 through the week of August 15.  Classes are open to adults and high school students that have had at least one semester of experience in instruction on an orchestral string instrument (violin, viola, cello or bass). Beginners will be registered in the fall. Those students that were in the Beginning Ensemble during this past academic year should register for Intermediate Ensemble.

Classes offered are:

Intermediate String Ensemble

Designed for beginner/intermediate-level students who are developing ensemble skills. Students will focus on developing their skills in bow articulations, note reading on all strings, and tone quality. Students should be comfortable playing in the keys of D,G, and C major. Students that were in the Beginning Ensemble this past year should register for Intermediate String Ensemble.

Class held Thursday evenings, 6:00-7:40 at the First Congregational Church in Bristol. 

 

Advanced String Ensemble

Designed for intermediate and advanced students who are comfortable playing in a string ensemble. Students will explore a variety of genres and styles while increasing their individual and ensemble skills. Through warm up exercises and a broad variety of repertoire, skill development will focus on scales, arpeggios, intonation, shifting, articulations, advanced bow techniques and vibrato.  Students should be comfortable playing music in the keys of D, G, C, F and B flat major.

Classes will be held Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:40 PM at the Bristol Veterans Home at 480 Metacom Ave. in Bristol.

 

Advanced Chamber Ensemble

This ensemble is for the advanced string player and explores baroque and classical repertoire,styles and techniques.

 

Instructor:Nathan Rodriquez

Class held Thursday evenings, 7:40-9:20 at the First Congregational Church in Bristol. 

Intermediate Classical Guitar Ensemble

Designed for intermediate-level adult students who are developing ensemble skills. Prerequisites include the ability to read music in first position, play chords and some knowledge of right hand PIMA rest stroke and free stroke. Students who were beginners this past year should register for this class.

Instrument Rental

CSP has a select number of orchestral instruments (violin, viola, cello and bass) for adult rental. Rentals are based upon availability and are issued on a first come, first serve basis. Please complete the Adult Instrument Form if you are interested in renting a CSP instrument. Those wishing to play guitar must furnish their own classical guitar.
